"Please, please don't think me a coward..."

Helena's talent within the traveling troupe is lyrics; during performances, she often stands just off to the side of the stage, singing her arias. Despite her obvious talent with lyrics, many of her arias do not have words at all, treating her voice as just an instrument. She reasons that, when combined with Jasmine's dancing, words would merely get in the way of the focus of the performance. Helena feels more comfortable out of center stage, and her disposition is to help from the background or the shadows, rather than get in the middle of things. In battle, she rarely strikes foes; she takes it upon herself to safely extract wounded and injured men back to the wagons so that they may recover properly.

In addition to being a talented songstress, Helena is also an acolyte of the Virtuous Saints. Her assignment, by her Templar's bidding, was to bring glory to the Order, a task most unusual for the Saints. She decides that "glory and fame" are to be taken literally, so she joins Bren's caravan in attempt to do as much good as she can in general to spread the Order's message of aid. The assignment turns out to be a "sham" - the intent of the message was indeed to aid people around the world, but the test of virtue within was to ensure that Helena would not interpret it in such a way that she felt it necessary to fight or kill, to bring about the "traditional" meaning of glory and fame. Helena's deeds do spread, and Saints' recruitment rises dramatically after the second defeat of Emperor Kasiell.

Helena's weapon is a tower shield; it classifies as a defensive weapon, thus cannot be used to directly attack enemies, but can be used to shove allies, a la Path of Radiance. Her role in combat is that of a Medic.
