"You stick with the caravan. I’ll not be held responsible for you if you opt to go out of our way. You go where we go, you perform where we perform." --Brenick

The Wagontrain refers to a caravan consisting of at least ten covered wagons. Led by Wagonmaster Bren, the wagontrain "officially" makes their living as a band of merchants and entertainers, most famously the "dancing troupe" of Jasmine the dancer, Helena the singer, and Teah the blacksmith on drums. Unofficially, the wagontrain serves as the mobile headquarters of Lynia's band of rebels, whose mission is to stop the feud between the twin Bermands and prevent them from attacking Riga.

Over the course of the game, the Wagontrain may be upgraded. While population growth is ever a concern, as the wagontrain takes on new soldiers and staff, there is no solid limit on the number of soldiers that may be recruited over the course of the story. Weapons can't be upgraded past a certain point until the blacksmith cart is upgraded. Upgrading the stage cart results in the dancing troupe making more money between chapters, while upgrading the Wagonmaster's cart will affect how cheap the upgrades become. Some carts will affect character growth. The library cart affects magicians, tinkerers, and Argur. Upgrading sleeping quarters not only affects everybody's stamina, but also increases the rate at which support is earned between units.
