The Privateer/Chapter 3

In the time it took Lucia and I to reach the SLC Midway, I'd completed 30 Sudoku puzzles, won 3 games of Canfield (and lost 50), and won only one round of vidcomm rock-paper-scissors against Lucia. A bit hard to compete when you can't see what your opponent has thrown - I get the feeling Lucia only gave me the win out of pity.

We landed our respective vessels in separate docking areas, since there were no more "double" bays to spare (all reserved for incoming merchant vessels...and that U-Haul trailer I saw earlier). The Midway had a surprisingly large capacity for docking; nearly 64 single-size docking bays and another 16 doubles. Were they to remove the dividing walls between the bays, you could probably fit another SLC Midway into it (I exaggerate...for entertainment value, I'd hope).

The SLC Midway was not your average Coalition spacecraft carrier. It wasn't a full-on space station, and most of the ships docked with it were indeed SLC fighters, bombers, and colony ships, but the SLC acknowledges that it can't be self-sufficient in the middle of the fringe systems, so they allow privateers, freelancers, merchants and the like to conduct their business aboard the carrier - so long as it's good and legal, of course.

This page is pretty unfinished. Weasel plans to get to it eventually. Probably.
