Teah has only just set up her station for the day, her forge freshly lit, when Samael approaches, with an unusual item in tow.

"Samael? I thought you were staying back at the village to tend your crops," Teah recalls. "And...that's your plow, isn't it?"

"It used to be," Samael grunts.

"Well, I hate to tell you now, but I can't help you with your farming equipment right now. This band of warriors needs my help, and I just can't break away for favors." Teah retrieves a cracked sword from a barrel.

"This isn't farming equipment. Not anymore." Samael lifts the once-plow and notes fresh bloodstains and clods of dirt clinging to it. "It could use some tweaking, to be sure, but it's as much a weapon as that blade you're slaving over."

"But...it's a plow."

"It used to be," he repeats. "But when my village...our village...got attacked by bandits, that's when I realized that I was a fool for listening to King Dimitrius. We needed a militia to fight off the brigands, and we didn't have one, because everyone was more concerned about disarming than defending the homestead. We just had a ragtag band of farmers with blunt tools and pitchforks. Scarcely the thing to fight off men with axes and longswords."

Teah sets the cracked sword down on her workbench. "But...wait, you were using your plow as a weapon? Isn't that a bit...weird?"

"It's been sharpened a few times. Still quite heavy, hard to swing. But they feel it. Nothing stops it."

"You think I could lighten it a bit? I think I'm up for a challenge."

"Maybe you should watch me fight with it first. I know how you work. You like seeing things in action." Samael grins at the thought of showing off for the blacksmith. "For now, though, perhaps just a sharpening and a quick polish."

Teah starts grinning as well. "This ought to be fun."
