Melly

"I'd be lying if I said you didn't deserve library duty, Garth. It seems to be your lot in life."

Melly is a model student of Caynea's magick school, and the only person who will actually speak to Garth aside from instructors. That said, despite her chipper exterior and ability to make nearly everything look easy, she is not especially friendly to Garth. She is at the top of her class, and may be next in line to becoming a dean of the magick school.

However, Melly is also a "receptor," a rare breed of magically-attuned human who can, with no effort whatsoever, pick up magical ripples or concentrated thoughts around her. She can't easily control this reception, to the point where she can't focus on one specific thought if many people around her are trying to concentrate on a given thing, but this unwittingly leads her to pass her tests at the magick school with no problems, as every student around her is focusing their thoughts on the same thing.

She has problems committing things to memory herself, as she has spent much of her life not actually needing to, as others around her often remember them for her.
