Elisa Celiante

A 13-something little French girl, rather panicky, fights with improvised attacks such as slaps, low kicks, and stuff. Her parents were both members of the French Resistance, and she was used for a time as a messenger. When the Germans invaded her small town, though, her parents stayed behind to fight and urged her to run. Her only motivation is to escape. Near the end of her story mode, she's abducted by Gilbert Volkenheim and taken back to Germany, where she must battle Hitler. Her name, incidentally, comes from Ken's love interest/wife from the SF games.

Profile

  • Nationality: French
  • Occupation: Messenger, French Resistance
  • Age: 13
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short, blond, most similar to the Rune Knight class from Disgaea
  • Outfit: A cute and simple little green dress, about knee-length, with a little brown messenger pouch draped over one shoulder.

Elisa was only 6 years old when Germany invaded. Her parents were no longer able to go to work, due to the German army seizing the government building they both worked at. They immediately joined the French Resistance and attempted to thwart the German invaders "behind the scenes" by analyzing the troop movements and wiring the information to people who could use it. Radio became too risky by 1944, so Elisa was reluctantly chosen to become a messenger, carrying coded messages to houses owned by members of the Resistance. This went on until 1946, when the Germans managed to advance through the entire town, making it far too risky to even leave the house. At the beginning of 1947, a squad of German soldiers forced their way into Elisa's house, targeting her parents. She was forced to escape on her own. She now makes her way east to Switzerland to try to escape from the war altogether.

Moves

  • Punch: Elisa slaps the opponent, aiming for center mass.
  • Weak Punch: Elisa thrusts a palm forward.
  • Strong Punch: Elisa hops upward a bit and launches an overhand punch at the opponent's head. Has a slight delay to hit.
  • Kick: Elisa swings a foot in the general direction of the opponent's shins.
  • Weak Kick: Same as Kick but quicker and less damaging.
  • Strong Kick: Elisa issues forth a standing scissor-kick, but falls backwards in the process. Hits quickly, but leaves a long opening as Elisa gets back up.
  • Weapon: Elisa swings her messenger bag at the enemy.
  • Weak Weapon: Elisa slaps the enemy with her notebook.
  • Strong Weapon: Elisa takes an item from her bag and throws it at the opponent. Slight delay before item is thrown as she takes it from her bag; item thrown at an average speed and can be blocked, Precise Defended or punched right back at her (deals slightly more damage for every time the thrown item is rallied back and forth, up to a point).
  • QCB+W: Elisa grabs a handful of dirt and throws it at the enemy. Does no damage, but if not blocked, may stagger or stun the opponent. Cannot be punched or Precise Defended.
  • Taunt: Elisa points a scolding finger at her opponent and yells, "You should be ashamed of yourself!"

Personality

Elisa, being a young teen raised in a country prone to surrender, is something of a coward. Though she detests war, she is driven to fight in life-threatening circumstances, and sometimes doesn't realize what she's done until the fight is over.

Win Poses

  • Elisa falls to her knees, completely exhausted from the fight.
  • Elisa is shocked to see her opponent not moving, runs over and asks if they're okay.
  • [last round only] Elisa is shocked to see her opponent not moving, looks back and forth a couple times, and runs off, shouting "I'm sorry!"

Ending

Upon reaching the Swiss border, Elisa is knocked out from behind and taken to Berlin by Volkenheim. She attempts to escape her captors and flee, but is stopped by Volkenheim on the way out. After Elisa is finished fighting and (somehow) defeating Volkenheim, he decides to take Elisa directly to his superior: Adolf Hitler.

Hitler boards his robot suit and, in his obviously-not-in-sane-mind reasoning, decides to use Elisa as a test target. As soon as Elisa (somehow) beats Hitler in his suit, Hitler emerges, scarred and worn out, brandishing his Luger.

Bad Ending

If Elisa proceeds to defeat (kill) Hitler in this form, she looks on in horror and wonders how she was capable of this. While she is seen as a hero, she denies that she did anything remotely heroic and runs. That she killed a man is unacceptable, in her eyes, and she disappears, never to be seen again.

Good Ending

If Elisa does NOT attack Hitler and instead taunts him, Hitler throws his gun to her and begs her to finish him. She refuses to even touch the gun, let alone fire it ("No, not until you apologize!"). With the help of Volkenheim, Elisa restrains Hitler and brings him outside of the government building they're in, presenting him to Winston Churchill and President Truman who both happen to be there for some reason. Hitler is charged with war crimes and thrown in prison for the rest of his days, and Elisa learns that her parents were not killed, but were spared by the intruding Germans, who were really just looking for food and shelter after being separated from the rest of their unit.

ELISA: You should be ashamed of yourself, Monsieur Hitler! Trying to kill an innocent girl?
HITLER: Then...go on! Kill me!
*Hitler throws his Luger to Elisa.*
ELISA: No!
HITLER: I am nothing but trash! Put a bullet in my head and end this!
ELISA: Nobody deserves this, it's not my right!
HITLER: I've murdered thousands! MILLIONS! What is one life to many?
ELISA: I will not have the burden of one death on my conscience! You say you've murdered millions...clearly YOUR conscience is already burdened.
HITLER: But--!!
ELISA: It is your burden to carry, Monsieur Hitler. You will live with the guilt of those millions for the rest of your days.
*Elisa turns to Volkenheim*
ELISA: You there!
VOLKENHEIM: W-what?
ELISA: Help me take him out of here!
VOLKENHEIM: What will you do?
ELISA: I will make him answer for his crimes.
*Outside the capital building*
CHURCHILL: Well well, what do we have here?
ELISA: Monsieur Churchill! Monsieur Truman!
TRUMAN: You know who we are, young lady?
ELISA: Of course! The Resistance knows well the faces of their allies.
TRUMAN: You've done us a great service!
CHURCHILL: Adolf Hitler will certainly answer for his crimes against all of humanity. Take him to Nuremburg!
*at Nuremburg*
JUSTICE: And who was this person?
ELISA: *pointing at Hitler* It was him!
*GUILTY appears on screen over black and white shot of Hitler at the stand*
