"I am not interested in your wealth or your lives. Hand me any books or texts you have, and I shall consider us even."

Argur is an outlier, even for this game; he wields no weapon at all, instead opting to fight with his massive fists. He is surprisingly fast for a man of his hulking stature, and while his "weapon" can't be upgraded with money, leveling him up produces much greater strength benefits than most other characters. His weapon also reverses the triangle; his punches are Strength-based, but he will outclass Skill weapons and is weak to Magic. Since it's generally not a good idea to punch armor, Argur looks for "holes" in armor. This reduces his potential damage output as well as his accuracy rating.

Argur might be a bandit, but his is a unique type of banditry. He does not desire wealth or possessions of any sort; he is, instead, a bandit of knowledge. Instead of attacking caravans and villages for material gain, Argur instead targets libraries, magicians' guilds, and anyplace else that might contain things for him to read and glean knowledge from. Since in Shantania, libraries are not generally open to the public, Argur does often have to force his way into dens of knowledge in order to learn, since his was not a rich family that could afford to send him to an academy. Stranger still, Argur has no desire to become a magician or scholar. He wishes to learn of military history, of great heroes of old battles, of the old sagas from perspectives other than the bards. Specifically, Argur wishes to understand why his father, who he held in high esteem, was not given similar respect to the other heroes of old. He eventually learns that "history is written by the victors," and because his father was on the losing side of the battle, his deeds are not exalted as Argur expects.

If Argur is in your party, it is he who will "introduce" the party to the concept of The Finders; he is also the quickest to discover Gaiana's true identity.

Argur, not wielding a weapon or armor himself, can wind up having an interesting relationship with Teah the blacksmith; while at first Teah is offended that Argur refuses her offer to forge him a weapon, she does not immediately realize that Argur fights bare-handed, and towards the end of their support path together, Teah forges him a set of iron knuckles that permanently increase his strength by a few points, in addition to enabling him to damage armored foes as any other unit can, without penalties to damage or accuracy.
